Oneplus X vs Zenfone 2 Laser: OnePlus X is the mightier and costlier

The battle among all the brands in mobile industry doesn’t seem to stop, rather it continues to heat up as new models are launched on a regular basis. The latest to join the bandwagon are OnePlus X and Asus Zenfone 2 Laser which come at a mid-range budget, yet pack powerful punches in terms of speed and design. OnePlus had created a stir with its previous OnePlus One and OnePlus Two models and were highly successful while Asus has been grabbing the limelight in mid-range segment. We did a detailed inspection of both the devices to check which gadget scores higher in terms of features and investment.

Display and Design

The OnePlus exhibits a 5.0-inch AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels which leads to razor sharp pixel density of 441ppi. The Chinese phone has a metallic frame and is crafted with anodized aluminium with curved edges. The phone arrives with a dimension of 140 x 69 x 6.9mm and measures 138 grams in weight.

The Zenfone Laser appears in shining black skin with a thickness of 10.8mm and weighs 170 grams which makes the device thicker and heavier than its rival.

Configuration and OS

Acting as the brain of the OnePlus X is a 2.3GHz Snapdragon quad-core processor coupled with 3GB RAM which is ably supported by Adreno 330 graphics processor to deliver a seamless and rich performance while gaming and multitasking. The Chinese phone has Android Lollipop as its operating system and comes with fingerprint sensor for added security.

In comparison, the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser is powered by a more powerful octa-core processor seated on Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Chipset. A 3GB RAM along with Adreno 405 graphics gives aegis for a lag free performance and excellent gaming experience. Like, OnePlus X, this too runs on Android Lollipop OS.

Camera and Battery

The OnePlus X is a delight for shutterbugs; it sports a 13MP f/2.2 autofocus main camera which works on ISOCELL technology to capture fantastic pictures. For video calling and selfies, there is an 8MP f/2.4 aperture front camera which clicks high quality pictures as well.  The camera comes with inbuilt features like AF Phase Detection, Continuous Shooting, Exposure compensation, Face detection, Geo tagging, High Dynamic Range mode (HDR), ISO-CELL, Self-timer, Touch to focus among others.
The OnePlus X is backed by a powerful 2,525 mAh li-po battery which charges quickly and last for long hours to keep you glued to the phone.

Its counterpart, the Zenfone 2 Laser matches its rival with an equally good 13MP camera with dual LED flash. The camcorder records videos at a resolution of 1, 920 x 1,080 @ 30 FPS which is a delight for the camera fanatics. However, the 5MP front camera is not at par with its rival, but still good enough to impress the selfie lovers. The inbuilt camera features are as good as the OnePlus X.

To keep the device up and running, it is fueled by a 3,000mAh li-polymer battery which lasts longer than its competitor.

Storage and Connectivity

Both the Chinese phone come with an inbuilt memory of 16GB which can further be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card slot. The connectivity features in both the devices are at par, both support 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, Mobile Hotspot, Bluetooth, USB Port, microUSB 2.0 among others.

Conclusion

To begin with, both are outstanding devices with powerful configuration and have a lot in common, the difference between the two exist because of the prices. The OnePlus X comes at a higher price and deservingly so, it has full HD display, better design and better front camera which are the most sought after features for younger generation. In Zenfone 2 Laser, users get to enjoy gaming in a bigger screen and experience a more robust processor. To conclude, if you have a low budget then Zenfone is the one for you, if not OnePlus X is almost a perfect device in a mid-range budget which will satisfy all your needs.
